An elegant café experience |
The Kit-Tea-Kat is a twilight to dawn café run by Kira Yoshikage in downtown Bavan. You can enjoy all the expectations of a local coffee shop while experiencing the comfort of home. The first café was opened in Taiwan and has since become a huge hit in Asia. This luxury is now available to the residents of Ryslig, both monster and human alike. What is a cat café exactly, you ask? Well, it's quite simple. You drink your tea and have a lovely warm meal while in the company of wonderful animals that may entertain you with their natural kitty antics or perhaps spend the hour by your side. Here at the Kit-Tea-Kat café you'll find a wonderful dining experience as well as comfort. We truly hope you enjoy yourself at our cozy little café While this is a monster run establishment we do not serve anything but genuine food here. And so that no food goes to waste at the end of each work day we will offer up leftovers of the day to hungry monsters and humans alike. Getting started here is no easy thing and we here at Kit-Tea-Kat understand. |

I am glad you weren't fooled. There aren't a lot of people that know me and they may believe this. But then there are several messages like this one on the network. One right after the other and they follow this insane format so perhaps my reputation will be spared due to the obvious nature of what's happening here.
<vincetsemper>
Actually now that you say it, it does explain a lot. Dear me he must be even more bored with his imprisonment than I had realized.
< Murderous Monarch >
He was actually the first person I met here in Ryslig and he instantly took me in. Which was a blessing and a curse. Living in a home with him was an experience if nothing else.
It's rather good to hear from you. I wanted to give you and your family some space after those recent events. I hope it's alright to ask on the current situation, feel free not to answer if it's uncomfortable. But, how is your son and how are you for that matter?
<vincetsemper>
[Sorry about your stalker, bro.]
I had been meaning to contact you on that front as well, but as you've rightly noticed we've had a lot on our minds. Draco has moved in with me for the time being. I won't go so far as to say he's perfectly recovered but he seems to be doing all right.
As for myself I'm trying not to think about it too hard. Trying to keep busy. How did you make out in the end? I lost track of you in the chaos I'm afraid.
< Murderous Monarch >
But he is a bit much pretty much all of the time. He latches onto people quite easily, so watch yourself or you'll have a fake network post right next to mine.
That's good to hear. That event seemed... traumatic. I only saw the thing rolling past and that was more than enough for me. To actually be a part of it... Well, I'm glad he's on the road to recovery. Give him my regards.
The situation was a bit of a inconvenience nothing more. The monster meat problem was brushed under the rug for the most part after that blob happened. My café didn't suffer any damages which is lucky considering the state of the city now. I was never in any danger and I am grateful for that. It seems disaster is the norm and I'm just glad to not be a part of it when it strikes.
<vincetsemper>
When I met him first however he was "Tenkai" so actually getting to meet this version of him, it has been something. To say the least.
I didn't even realize that ghastly thing had anything to do with our missing friends, and by the time I realized it had already made way to the lake. I too am glad to have been spared the more direct horror, I won't deny that, but my feelings are more mixed. I should have liked to think I could have done more, particularly for my son.
Draco did not make it out of the lake alive. But the Fourth did bring him back to us swiftly and in the safety of the Arcade.
I am glad to hear that your business did not suffer any more from all of this however. I don't know if Draco has talked to yet about returning back to work yet, but hopefully you will understand he needs some time. On top of everything else this latest fog has caused no small difficulty. As it turns out, he is a Naga. And now he has lost his legs. He is still growing used to the tail.
< Murderous Monarch >
Oh, yes. Tenkai. You should try living with all that nonsense.
My sincerest condolences. Even though death is not permanent it is... unpleasant. And it lingers with you. I actually felt quite guilty about it all, which is an unusual feeling for me. But I did say I'd keep an eye on your son while he worked for me and then he went missing. Of course he could have been snatched from anywhere. But well... I am no parent, well, I was kind of one for a few months, that's a very complicated story and I don't think I learned anything about parenting either. But I don't think it's a good idea to linger on the I could haves and I should haves. What could you have done for your son? No more than all the others concerned about their friends and loved ones. It's unrealistic to watch his every step and it's the unfortunate truth that terrible things will happen here. I think all we can do for those we care about is be with them when it's over. That's what you're doing for Draco now, correct? That's all you can do as a parent in this horrible situation.
Surely taking a reactive stance isn't the most appealing but until the Witch is dead or until we can predict how this world works I think it's all we can do.
That's just my take on the whole matter. I wouldn't sell yourself short. In my opinion, I think you're doing an excellent job.
And thank you. Yes, I am aware. He can take all the time he needs. I do understand the dying and being unable to do things for a while after.
Oh! A Naga. Well. I imagine that will take time getting used to. I'll be in touch with him and he can start work again whenever he's ready. Clearly he's dealing with quite a bit.

I'm probably the closest thing my magical countrymen have to a living noble, I suppose. I have knights and lords among my direct ancestors and certainly the wealth and land the Malfoy name still holds is equivocal. Witches and wizards lost the right to almost all noble titles when we severed ties with the English court however. It's not something worth mourning, far as I'm concerned. Being a Malfoy means far more to me than any letters or patents.
I'm doing my best with Draco now, yes. It's hard to know what he needs from me most right now. But I am trying to be here for him. Thank you for your reassurances; they don't mend everything, but then nothing perhaps can fully assuage a parent's worry or guilt when it comes to their children. It does mean something though to hear from an outsider's perspective my efforts are still visible and appreciated.
Who knows, Draco may wish to return sooner once he can move around, some people like working as a distraction. I can be the same way when I have social projects to devote my energy to. In any case responsibility is something he has been taught to take most seriously, he will not leave you waiting long I am sure.
<vincetsemper>
Your thoughts on this revelation?
< Murderous Monarch >
Oh. Oh yes. No, nothing is going to happen to me. He must have created a story of some kind. I'm going to the prison to visit him. But not really to visit him. To sit there and maybe read the paper. Do the crosswords if they exist. And I will be ignoring him.
The trick to dealing with Mitsuhide is to not give him attention. I learned that early on when living with him.
When you're training an animal you punish bad behavior, correct? A whap on the nose or you spray them with water. Raise your voice even. And eventually that corrects the bad behavior. Mitsuhide is the opposite. He enjoys the punishments. He seeks them out even.
So if he does something bad he's hoping for a punishment. I don't intend to give him that. I will sit there and ignore him and he will hate it. He's trying very hard to get out of it I see, but it's a necessary thing that I must do. It ruins my Thursday undoubtedly but a point needs to be made even if it's a bizarre way of doing it.
I thank you for your concern but that's just Mitsuhide being Mitsuhide, I'm afraid.
<vincetsemper>
< Murderous Monarch >
Your concern is very much appreciated all the same. But I can't see Mitsuhide ever doing me any actual harm. He's not exactly harmless, quite the opposite but when it comes to me and a few others I think we're safe from all insanities. Avoiding an enemy like him makes living under his roof worthwhile.
