An elegant café experience

The Kit-Tea-Kat is a twilight to dawn café run by Kira Yoshikage in downtown Bavan. You can enjoy all the expectations of a local coffee shop while experiencing the comfort of home. The first café was opened in Taiwan and has since become a huge hit in Asia. This luxury is now available to the residents of Ryslig, both monster and human alike.

What is a cat café exactly, you ask? Well, it's quite simple. You drink your tea and have a lovely warm meal while in the company of wonderful animals that may entertain you with their natural kitty antics or perhaps spend the hour by your side. Here at the Kit-Tea-Kat café you'll find a wonderful dining experience as well as comfort. We truly hope you enjoy yourself at our cozy little café

While this is a monster run establishment we do not serve anything but genuine food here. And so that no food goes to waste at the end of each work day we will offer up leftovers of the day to hungry monsters and humans alike. Getting started here is no easy thing and we here at Kit-Tea-Kat understand.

( Dinner ) Dinner is from 6 pm to 11 pm every night. Our dinners are light but warm. We can make a wide variety of soups. As well as quiches, casseroles and salads.	( Lunch ) Lunch is served froom 11 pm to 2 am and offers an array of light and warm sandwiches offering a wide variety of meats and vegetables as well as breads. Sandwiches can be served cold or warmed depending on the guest's request.


( Breakfast ) Breakfast is served from 2 am till 6am and all kinds of dishes are served. Pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage. You simply have to name the item and it can be made for you. This is our guarantee.	( Desserts ) Desserts are served all day long. We have a wide variety of cakes, pies, muffins, cupcakes, cookies, and many others. All freshly baked daily. If we do not have what you're looking for at the time we can make it fresh, so long as you're willing to wait.


( Drinks ) We have several different brews of coffee as well as fresh tea leaves. Simply ask to see what we have in stock. We also make cappuccinos, lattes and many other modern day drinks. Along side tea and coffee there is juice, milk and hot chocolate. We do not sell alcohol. [Kira picks one up from the ground and inspects it carefully. He knows just by his fingers brushing against the fur this is not what he's looking for. He has a feeling that none of them are. Disappointing but he's learned to accept it at this rate. They say the Fog God or something like that has his Killer Queen... so he'll deal with that when he learns more.]

Pink was just a hunch as that's the color Killer Queen is back at home. But you did good work nonetheless. I'll take them all. We didn't discuss price before hand, so what do you think this is all worth?

[It's not his money so the price tag doesn't matter to him in the least. It's Mitsuhide's who was suppose to pay the child anyway.]

Twenty coins? Thirty? You're living on your own currently, right? So maybe forty? You did all the labor so you'd know what it's worth better than anyone.

[Gon smiles at the compliment, but he's not much for negotiations when it comes to this sort of thing. It was always Killua or Leorio who argue for a better deal. He'd usually just take the first decent offer that came around, or complain if it seemed unfair.]

Yeah, I'm currently living just outside of town, so as much as you're willing to pay me would help a lot! [He scratches his head.] ...I guess it would help if I knew how much the currency here was worth.

I'm afraid I don't know that either. But, I do know this. Never take the first offer. So when I go to the shops that sell food they tell me a price and I give them mine. We meet in the middle quite nicely. I recommend you do the same.

[From his jacket pocket he pulls out some coins.] Let's see... Five cats. Let's say four coins a piece. So that's twenty. How does that sound?

[Taking those words to heart, Gon furrows his brow, frowning slightly at the offer of 20 coins when Kira had offered him 40 just a moment before.]

...How about 40 for 4 of them.

[He couldn't help but offer a faint smirk of satisfaction. That was exactly the response he'd been hoping for.]

Four for forty, well, I'm not sure. You're stiffing me a cat. So. How about thirty-five coins for all five. That's seven coins per cat.

[Kids being stuck in this hellish world truly didn't seem right. And while he wasn't about to hand out charity, everyone should know the simple act of haggling. He could consider it a good deed, he hadn't done any of those in a very long time. Although one could argue that killing his roommate had also been a good deed.]

Hmm... [Gon brings his hand to his chin and gives this new offer some serious consideration, but probably not for the reason Kira expected. When he's made up his mind he straightens up with a smile.]

Okay! But only if you promise to let them come and go as they please. It wouldn't be right to coop them up inside when they're used to living outside, but I'm sure if you give them a warm place to sleep and food to eat, they'll keep coming back!

[Kira begins counting out the coins, placing three stacks of ten on the table and a smaller stack of five beside it.]

You don't need to worry about that. My upstairs window is open and the current cats come and go as they please. They bring all sorts of things from their hunts and are good company. There isn't a lot in my current residence so they have a lot of space. You don't need to worry about cats in my care.

Okay! [Gon takes his word for it, smiling brightly as he then places his hands on the table and leans in, watching his coins pile up.]

Well if you need anything else, just let me know! I'll need more money once this runs out.

[He can't imagine what else he could possibly need from this child. He wasn't really in need of anything. And Killer Queen was probably not some regular cat like he'd first assumed So there wasn--Oh. Wait a moment. There just might be something after all...]

Actually. Actually, there is another task I'll need you to preform, if you're ever in need of money. This isn't cat hunting or anything like that. And if you went, I am sure I could get what I needed.

[He'd send the boy now but it was better to wait a week or so and see what happened with all that monster business. No sense in picking up new all new suits if his new body lacked legs or something like that.

Sending a child in his place was brilliant though, he can't believe he didn't think of it before.]

[Gon perks up, his curiosity brimming as Kira beats around the bush, and then he doesn't even tell him.]

Huh? But you didn't tell me what it is!

[He's an impatient one.]

[Kira waves his hand dismissively, at the boy, attempting to lower that enthusiasm.]

It's nothing exciting, I assure you. You see, back in Bavan is a nasty shopkeeper that I know from my home. He happens to own a tailor shop called Ebony Threads. He also happens to make exquisite suits. Unfortunately, we don't get along. So I need someone to get the suit done for me. So long as he doesn't know it's for me, there's won't be any trouble at all. All you'd have to do is give him the measurements and the colors. It's an easy task but very important to me.

You can get back to me about all of it once I figure out what kind of beast I'll inevitably turn into. There's no sense in getting pants for my suit if I lose my legs...

[It actually works, only because getting a suit sounds kind of boring.]

Oh, that's all... [Well, he doesn't mind helping out, it's just a lot less exciting than he hoped.]

So you're expecting to turn into a magical beast too? I know they said it happens to everyone, but...

I'm afraid I'm just a boring adult. A need for cats and suits. Nothing exciting.

Ah yes. They all say that's what's going to happen. And judging by all the monsters roaming around I find it hard to believe otherwise. Especially because I know a few people from home here, and they are very much monstrous.

I'm not too concerned. I have made some arrangements to have the monster parts forcibly removed. So long as I can keep my legs, everything should be fine. But what about you? There are at least some interesting looking monsters about. Do you have any hopes in what you might become?

[That is pretty boring...]

You can do that? That sounds like it'll hurt, and a lot of the magical beasts around here don't look like you can just remove parts of them...

[He really doesn't think it's a good idea. There were magical beasts covered in feathers, fur, and ones with totally inhuman faces. There's just no way.]

You're right. If I become a snake monster or something like that I am out of luck. But... I have done some research and found that there are several monsters that I can pull this off with. If I keep my legs, there won't be a problem. Everything can be removed, if you try hard enough.

[Kira can't help but let out a huff of laughter at the boy's optimism.] Well yes, human is ideal. You're just a kid... so, I hope you stay human too.

[How... oddly sentimental of him. Maybe because this was clearly a good kid. And he didn't think good kids deserved to be here.]

Well, I hope you get to stay human too! You shouldn't have to go through all that trouble...just because the fog god wants to change us.

[Forcibly removing body parts, fur, horns, or feathers... It sounds pretty gruesome. This is exactly why Gon thinks what the fog god is doing is wrong.]

I'm sure there's a way to stop it, there has to be...

I agree completely. There are people who are trying to stop it and send us home. Have you heard of the Fourth God?

[What is he doing? Attempting to recruit a child to the Fourth God's side, apparently. What a slippery slope religion was...]

Those that follow the Fourth God oppose the Fog Witch and seek to undo all of this and find a way to send us home. If you don't wish to change, this is a good option, wouldn't you say? I can take you there. To the Fourth God's domain.

[This is the first time he's heard of them. Back in Vandare, everyone just kept bringing up the fog god when he asked about this place.]

Hmm...well, that does sound pretty good. [Not turning into a monster and going home is sort of his goal here.] Sure! I'll go.

The Fourth God is someone who opposes the Fog God. Every day those that follow work hard to reach our goals. They work hard to eventually stop the transformation and to one day go home. Joining won't stop the inevitable, but, if we can all return home it's worth laying down some loyalty. Also, those that have pledged a great deal of loyalty can get rid of some of the monster traits for something a bit more... technological. Wires and robotics...

[This boy was an eager one. He hadn't even fully explained everything and he was all for going. Well, if he got them another follower no one could say he wasn't doing his part in the "cult".

He reaches into his jacket pocket, pulling out a card with a rainbow tint to it. His key to the Fourth God's arcade.]

If you're still sure after everything I've said... I can take you there. And once inside, you'll be part of his fight. And like I said, it's all a work in progress. I believe one day we'll all be able to go home. There are some hard working individuals on the Fourth God's side.

[Gon listens carefully as Kira explains things, and it all sounds pretty good to him--he doesn't have any doubt that if they work hard enough they can get what they want. However, if Gon's anything, he's the kind of person who likes to do things his way.

He looks down at the rainbow tinted card as it's presented to him.]

Oh, I don't know if I'm going to join. Can't I just take a look first?

[Kira slides the card back into his pocket. He won't admit it out loud but he's not one hundred percent sure how any of this works. He'd already agreed somewhat when he'd decided to be part of the Fourth God cult. He was also told that only members could get into the arcade. Mello had hinted at that.]

I don't think I can do that... But I can tell you about it and you can think it over. Better yet, I can direct you to someone who knows much more than I do. I'm just in it for the eventual ride home. I don't actually care about the fourth god.

Hmm...asking someone else sounds like a lot of work.

[He's a busy boy, okay. Lots of things to do. Mostly, he needs to head to Bavan soon.]

Well... The Fourth God's followers have a place in this secret arcade. It's full of machines and games. There's a lot of other very strange things happening but that card I showed you takes there. You slide it through the crack in the door and no matter where that original door led doesn't matter. You will be taken to the arcade. So... that's nice.

[He clears his throat a bit, continuing on.]

Th goal of the Fourth God is to stop the Fog Witch. To stop the changes or at least make them different. There are some fog followers filled with robotic parts and lights. It's... interesting. I suppose. And there are powers involved too. No one seems to do much of anything but... they're getting there. Probably. I'm not really all that invested in helping. I'm just there for the ride home. Whenever that is.

An arcade that only the Fourth God followers can go in? Ahh, no fair, that sounds really cool! [Gon lets out a whine. He's not even a gamer, he just wants to see it--and he's sure Killua would love something like that. He needs something cool to tell him when they meet again!

The bit with robotic parts really flies over his head.] I don't really get it, but if they're trying to stop the changes, then that's good. I still don't think I'm going to join right now...

[He scratches his head.] But I won't forget you guys either. We can always help each other.

Of course. It's probably best to avoid such cultist like activities, but I am a bit eager to return home. And if this can speed up the process, then so be it. Everyone will reap the benefits of all the work that goes into this after all.

[He makes his way back over to the door to see the boy out.] If you do change your mind, I hope you come back and see me about it. It's an offer that doesn't expire. And of course, if you find more cats or are looking to run that errand with my suit, I'll be more than happy to continue to offer payment.
