Merry Christmas to you
It's not like they hold throughout the day anyway...
The knock on the door at least stops his needless fussing but by the time he goes downstairs he finds nothing but a package waiting.
A Christmas gift? Well, it must be. There's actually a few people that might give him a gift. But not many would write in Japanese. The note really tells him all that he needs to know.
This is from Josuke. And that's very... strange. He's not sure he wants to opem this.
He does anyway.
Small cloth mice...? Oh. For the cats. Well, that's nice. There's something else in here. Oh yes. A stocking filled with coal. Well, that's going straight into the trash. It couldn't be a completely pleasant gift otherwise they might start forgetting where they stand with one another.
And now that leaves him in a bit of a situation. He's been mulling the idea over in his head about giving Josuke one of the kittens. On the one hand, he knows it'll be a good home. On the other, it's Josuke. And even though he's picked out the kitten and gotten the collar with one of the names Josuke picked he'd ultimately decided he wasn't going to give the boy the cat.
But now he has a gift and it's polite to give something in return.
Since he's going out tomorrow anyway to drop off treats for the Fourth Followers he supposes he can make a stop over to Josuke's. It'll be sometime in the day, unfortunately... Whatever. He'll wake him up. It's Christmas and all that.
So once seven am hits, now Christmas Day, he closes up. He leaves Susan and Draco do the cleaning while he plops the cat he'd picked out for Josuke in a box. This kitten has a serious attitude problem, towards him specifically, so he's more than happy to send it somewhere else. His first thought had been Josuke actually, and he's preemptively put a ribbon around it as he debated if he should give that troublesome boy a present. He puts the collar with desired name Josuke wanted, depending on the gender of the cat, in the box too. It's a little big but it's the tag that's important. He's seen Hot Space's tag a couple times now so he thinks he's matched it pretty well.
He places the lid of the box on, which does nothing to muffle this very vocal feline who is also sticking its paws through the air holes. This is not going to be a surprise if it doesn't stop this behavior.
By the time he finishes up his stuff at the arcade it's about ten am and the sun is a dreadful beast. Knocking on Josuke's door at this hour would be like knocking on someone's door at midnight back in Morioh, right? He doesn't particularly care, he can't leave the box at the door there's a kitten in here and it's rather cold outside. And if he doesn't do this now he's not going to want to do it later.
So, wasting no more time in mulling it over he knocks on Josuke's door. He finds himself here a lot, doesn't he? That needs to stop...]
on the first day of christmas my nemesis gave to me???
Merry Christmas!
[Ever since last year, he's really taken a liking to this whole holiday cheer thing; it's not exactly a big thing back home but, in a place like this, you have to hold onto whatever good will you can. Even if it's towards a man like the one standing in front of him now. Josuke stares at him for a new moments, half surprised, half suspicious; sure, he did the whole festive delivery thing yesterday but he hadn't expected Kira to reciprocate and the last time he showed up unannounced, he'd had to replace every bulb in the place.
There's a chill in the hallway- probably from a broken ceiling or crack in the wall that no one can be bothered to either find or fix- and, even still half enveloped in the warmth of his apartment, Josuke's shivering. The other goblin even still has a light dusting of snow on the shoulders of his coat. Behind him, the kettle whistles as it comes to the boil.
There are, as he sees it, two possible options: shut the door in his face or invite him in.]
It's cold as hell. Get in here already, Kira. [He's brusque but not hostile and, as his eyes drop down to the box, he blinks.] ... and guest...?
A kitten wrapped in a red bow~ (Josuke may also give Kira a minor heart attack if we're not careful)
He's incredibly hesitant, his wings wrapping around him as much as they're able being so small. He just wants to give Josuke this obnoxious cat and leave before something terrible happens to him. But against his survival instincts he hesitantly steps inside.]
Yes... Merry Christmas to you too. My apologies for the hour. [Though that doesn't seem to be a problem.] I got your gift for my cats. And so, it's only natural to return the favor, especially since I'd been mulling it over anyway. And you helped me rescue Dancer and Misfire just the other day.
And it's not really for you. It's for Hot Space.
[It's not a secret what's in this box. There's a tiny paw sticking out of one of the holes trying so very hard to be noticed. It's thankfully not mewing but there's obviously a ruckus going on in the box.]
I did go ahead and use one of the names you gave me. But if you've changed your mind about those names I think I can have it changed. Mr Malfoy is pretty good with metal working so... [He's regretting not leaving the box at the door. This feels so strange and uncomfortable. And it's odd because it's not really a bad feeling. Not the twisting knotting feeling he's always had around Josuke and the others. It's... It's kind of like when he first started talking to Lucius Malfoy.
It's daylight and he's very tired. It's also Christmas. He's going to blame this on all those anomalies and leave as soon as he's able.]
you might even say... a sheer.... heart... attack.....
... hey, buddy, you must be pretty cold too... [and then, decidedly less softly to Kira-] I’m making coffee.
[It’s not really an offer but he seems to have already decided on this one gesture. He obviously won’t be sticking around long- he already looks uncomfortable- but he’ll probably want to make sure that the kitten gets settled in first. It’s not as unpleasant a notion as it would have been when he first arrived, which should really be worrying in its own right but he’s not in the mood to retread that mess. So, without another word, Josuke gestures for him to go through and disappears back into the kitchen.
The small fireplace in the living room is ablaze; given that there's no sign of matches anywhere, it seems a fair assumption that those are magical flames burning away behind the grate. As ever, the apartment is a cozy mess. A blanket with a ball of fluff that must be Hot Space- fast asleep- huddled on top has been carefully arranged in the corner of the couch and the record player is open, ready for him to put in a new vinyl.
When he reappears, he’s carrying a tray with two mugs, a bowl of sugar and a small amount of milk in another cup balanced on top, which he sets down on the coffee table.]
For Hot Space, huh… [He reaches over and rubs the cat’s ears.] It’ll take an earthquake to wake him up right now.
[Sure, his guest is Kira but it’d be rude not to let him have dibs on the couch and his mother taught him well so Josuke settles on the floor opposite, closer to the fire. The papery membranes of his wings have a magenta glow where the light shines through them.]
... this is weird as fuck. [WELL..........] But... thanks.
[definitely weird as fuck]
AAAAAYYYEEEEE
He does sit, and his claws dig into the box that holds the cat, they crack a bit at the pressure but don't really do any damage to the present or it's precious cargo. But to avoid accidentally smashing the present or setting it ablaze due to stress or anxiety he places the box on Josuke's side of the coffee table.]
Yes... well, you mentioned that Hot Space might be lonely while you were away. And you also expressed interest interest in having another cat. And since you got me a gift and helped get back my other cats... And I have so many extra due to unexpected pregnancies... This seemed like the right thing to do. I'm not a fan of being in people's debts. And so... there you are.
[He reaches for one of the cups, opting for taking it black. Not that he takes a sip or anything. He just holds the warm cup between his chilled hands, his gaze on the lovely purplish glow Jouske's wings take on due to the flickering light of the fireplace.
Yes... this is weird. But not inherently bad. It's just...]
While I know you still hate me and the feeling is probably mutual on my end towards you. I am glad we're not killing each other anymore. It's too exhausting to live like that every day.
You... You should stop by my café sometime. We're open at night and you do deliveries at that time, if I recall. And if nothing else you can come to warm up as it's only going to get colder in the next month. [It's Christmas, you know... so... if Josuke can let him into his home he can at kind of do the same. At least make the offer or something.
This really is just... fucking weird.]
no subject
"Probably mutual"? [That sounds ominous and not for the reasons you might think; what a world they live in where hating each other is a "probability" rather than an absolute. He's about to say as much but he glances up just in time to meet his stare for the last part of his offer- and his eyes widen.] Ah- I... sure. If I'm around, I guess I...
[The whole thing has left him wrong-footed and it shows in his body language; the way he ducks his head and drums his claws on his mug and his wings flutter, making the fire dance behind him.
... it's easier with something to focus on. Head to one side, Josuke opens the top of the box- and finds exactly what he had expected. In spite of himself, he breaks into a smile as, very carefully, he lifts the kitten out of the box to cradle it against his chest. It seems a little alarmed at first, revving up another series of startled mewls and hissing sounds before eventually calming down again, aided in part by the distraction of the softness of his sweater.]
... who was your mama then, huh...? [He strokes its ears.] You're a noisy little thing...
no subject
But... The Fourth God made him a promise. A wonderful promise. He can put his hate aside for all of them. Because when the Fourth God wins... Oh, it's going to be so wonderful! So this. All this nasty time and energy consuming hatred... it is so pointless and unnecessary when he's unknowingly won. (Assuming the Fourth God actually beats the Fog Witch, that is.)]
It's mother? Hard to say. Princess of the Universe or God Save the Queen. That's a ragdoll and a persian. Big fluffy cats. The father could be any of the boys so your cat could become anything. Long haired, short haired... I don't know why it has a mouth like that but it's your chatterbox now.
That one in particular likes to climb. Climb specifically up your leg and then scream for food.
[The first time that happened he knew exactly who should get this furry annoyance even if he was still cold on giving Josuke a cat.]
no subject
Money, meanwhile, definitely talks. Josuke grins.]
... I like him already. He's cute.
[With that, he sets the kitten back in his lap, letting him clamber across his legs instead. Every time he gets too far away, the goblin draws him back. A brief silence falls upon the room, interrupted only by the crackling of the fire and Hot Space's purring, and, when Josuke breaks it, it's with a surprising announcement.]
I might move out of here soon. [Why is he telling him? Who knows.] I haven't decided yet.
no subject
He picks up the beast to put it on his lap for the time being, sipping at his coffee as he listens to the chatter of Money.
It's a silent moment but not really bad. Money is attempting to explore. Hot Space is purring happily and it's surprisingly peaceful and good. Something he'd have at home with Morioh. Just without Josuke. And his stand Killer Queen, not actual cats. But it's something even more normal than that. Maybe Shinobu sits where Josuke is and their actual cat-- her actual cat...
Thank God Josuke finally says something.]
Good. This place is terrible. [Full offense.] Where are you moving to? Bavan has lots of nice apartments. Buildings that aren't falling apart. And since that whole blob incident real estate is probably very cheap. You can live somewhere much nicer for a very good price.
[But something in him knows that Josuke isn't thinking of moving just down the street or anything like that.
Mitsuhide had told him that Kujo Jotaro and Kishibe Rohan live outside the city some ways away. It's the only reason he's okay with staying in Bavan, cause they're not there. If he had to guess, after the monster kidnapping and the blob... it's the right choice.
And so... This could very well be his last time seeing Hot Space. When he gave the cat away he knew he'd probably never see him again. Him and Josuke were on even worse terms then. But it's very heartwarming to see this cat run right to him time and time again. He hasn't been forgotten.
He gently scratches under Hot Space's chin, making sure the image of this wonderful cat is imprinted in his mind forever. He doesn't want to forget, just in case the Fog God decides to pick at memories here should the worst ever come.]
Don't let them hurt the cats. [Don't let that vile snake do anything to Hot Space.]
no subject
[But he doesn't sound too annoyed. By now, he's used to people- well, Kira, mostly- picking at where he lives and it's almost become something of a running joke; fussy
princessJosuke lives in a house that used to have cracks in the floorboards wide enough for him to contribute to the shouting matches the tenants downstairs are so fond of. What he does take offense at, though, is the suggestion that either Rohan or Jotaro might take their feelings out on his cats. Hepulls a face.]They wouldn't. [After all, didn't Jotaro go through all that trouble to pick up his first kill's dog and take him back so that it wouldn't starve or something? No way they'd pick on two cats.] That's not their style.
[Before Kira can make some comment about how ritually disemboweling people and hanging their remains up is more their thing, though, he clears his throat.]
... anyway, I figured I should let you know. Because of the cats. [a shrug] Maybe I won't even bother. I've got a lot of memories here- like the time my old man hung a severed head up in the doorway. Or the time you broke in and fried my electrics.
no subject
As for the issue with the cats... Josuke says they wouldn't hurt them. Kira thinks they absolutely would. If memory serves him well Rohan did something to Josuke for just talking with him. He'd absolutely eat these cats if he found out they'd belonged to him. There's not a doubt in his mind that the snake wouldn't do something horribly vindictive like that. And he can't possibly be convinced otherwise after what happened to him for just existing on the same street that Rohan happened to be on.
Hot Space clambers onto Kira's lap and pushes himself onto two legs so he can rub his head against the Goblin's cheek as if to say I'm going to be okay. And perhaps he will... He trusted Josuke to take care of Hot Space when he gave the boy the cat. He can try and continue to assume things will be alright going forward. He's obviously not the only person here that cares for this animal.
He clears his throat not wanting to argue and just move the conversation along.]
It is good to know. I make a lot of unexpected house calls as of late. [He gently pushes Hot Space back down so he can just sit peacefully on his lap, another faint smile appearing as Josuke mentions that little incident.] Ah, well. I was having a bad week. [To say the least.] Your father lived here too? Why say it like that? It's Kujo Jotaro, is it not? I did research on all the stand users when I learned I wasn't the only one. And I had some information from my father as well. Your grandfather and your father came to Morioh. Joseph Joestar and Kujo Jotaro. It seemed like a messy family history so I didn't look further into it than that. I just needed to know who was a potential stand user and what kind of threat that might be to me.
KIRA PLEASE
[You just had to wait until he had taken a mouthful of his drink, didn't you, Kira? Josuke chokes, just avoiding snorting coffee out of his nose in favour of burning his throat in a hurry to swallow it. Money starts and immediately scrambles under the table with a tiny hissing sound, collar jangling.]
My father?! Are you serious?! [It comes out as appalled croak that prompts another round of coughing. Oh dear.] N-No way-! My dad's Joseph Joestar and he's Jotaro's grandfather-!
[Sure, his messy family tree is something he's come to terms with but it must some very peculiar to Kira. Bizarre, you might even say.]
It was a good assumption tbh
Apparently he was incorrect about the family tree. He supposes that makes sense. He was assuming Kujo Jotaro was in his thirties. He could be younger. The correct information he's given doesn't sound any more believable though.
Joseph Joestar, who was that ancient old man, is Josuke's father but also the grandfather to Kujo Jotaro...]
I'm not particularly good with the names for all these arrangements having a very small family myself but that would make him your-- No. No, that would make you Kujo Jotaro's uncle. Is that right?
[Good grief... ] Well that's. That's... [He takes another sip of his coffee instead of finishing his thought.]
no subject
[Josuke would like to take pleasure in how bewildered he is but he really can't; it's hard to laugh when you're just as embarrassed and confused by the whole thing. His family is a drama bomb, waiting to go off at any given moment and send shrapnel secrets all over the place. Geeze.
So, Kira doesn't even need to finish his sentence for Josuke to get what he means.]
... yeah. I know.
[With a sigh, he scoops up Money in one hand and edges closer to the sofa, lifting him so that Hot Space can sniff at him. Weird to think that his family here is a way younger version of Jotaro, Rohan, his grand-niece and two cats. He really can't catch a break, can he?]
What do you think? Can you deal with a kitten?
[It's so much easier to talk to the cats than Kira- at least he knows where he stands with them.]
no subject
[And now... no one.] Although that's not to say the family didn't have it's scandals. They revolved around me. And not for the reason you'd imagine. But then also that reason too, probably.
[Probably. Most definitely but there was one long before all the murder business.]
But your father is here. Your nephew. You. And here I felt sorry for Lucius having his boy here. Your family line seems a bit unlucky.
no subject
Your father didn't seem too scandalized when he threw a phone at me.
[It might come as a relief that he doesn't ask him to elaborate. Whatever happened before- well, he's figured out the hard way that letting himself get upset about these things, letting it take over his thoughts only makes things more complicated and difficult here. Maybe he's just been in Ryslig too long but he's learned to harden his heart.
But only to some things.]
He's not here anymore. Mr. Joestar, I mean.
[He pauses to lick his lips, feeling a slow, unwelcome pang of regret and sadness creep up over his chest. Strange to think that the last time he saw him- or Dio- was six months ago. The apartment hadn't felt right for weeks without them and, even now, it feels bereft of Joseph's bright presence and Dio's caustic humour.]
He left a long time ago.
[Fuck. The last thing he wants is to look vulnerable. Glancing away, Josuke draws the kitten back against his chest, stroking its tiny ears.]
I'd say that makes him pretty lucky. He got to go home and he has somewhere to go back to. [That last part he adds in deference to Kira's own situation, though he's not sure why. With a sigh, he holds up his mug and leans forward so that he can clink it against his.] Fuck this place and fuck what it's done to us.
[Whether he means it in the physical sense or the social one is hard to say.]
no subject
[He sets the now empty cup down and can now busy his hands with petting Hot Space.]
You don't know this because you were taken from before. But you tricked me into blowing him up. I never go a chance to properly process that. But... I don't think I care all that much. [But he's also not sure. All that was months ago. He went from that final battle in Morioh to here. And Ryslig never stops being awful.]
And for what it's worth... He's the one that sent all those stand users after you. We weren't in contact until much later. One of those stand users attacked me too. He shot a cat with the arrow... it died so I buried it and then it became a flower that was also a cat and then it tried to kill me and almost succeeded. That was a bad day. [Stray Cat did grow on him though and became a very loyal stand. He doesn't miss it like he misses Killer Queen though.
But this whole conversation has gotten rather... depressing. Talk of family and being stuck here. That's not pleasant. Also, it's Christmas.]
Well, I'd have preferred maybe some therapy over this whole experience. But for what it's worth, I enjoy not being tacked in the street by you anymore. And I would dare say that I have come to understand that you're not the miserable little delinquent I thought you were. You're not a bad child at all. So despite the scandalous and complicated nature of your existence a fairly decent child came out of it. Functional families can't even manage that.
[He gently moves Hot Space back onto the floor so he can go and comfort his current owner. The mood has gotten a bit too sad for the holiday. It's also quite "late" for him. He also has to be up and open the café in just a few hours. So he stands, brushing off the cat hair that's accumulated on his suit first.] A new year is starting Josuke. Anything can happen.
no subject
But it's that last comment that gives him pause.
Anything can happen.
For a good while, the goblin does nothing more in response than make a soft humming sound and get to his feet to gather up the mugs. Anything can happen, huh? It already feels like the absolute in unexpected turns have been taken so what else could this place have to surprise him with? It's simultaneously a sobering and exciting thought.
Josuke turns- and, for the first time, Kira might notice the consequences of their earlier agreement through the open back of his sweater. Though faded, the blackened characters are still just about visible across his skin; poems and beautifully calligraphic words with uglier meanings- traitor, sorry- burned into his back. But only for a few moments. His wings flutter and the back of his sweater moves as he sets the mugs down in the kitchen, covering them up again. He hasn't given them much thought for a while; whether or not they completely disappear, like so many of these unwanted changes, they're a part of him now.
Eventually, as he comes back into the lounge, he answers.]
That sounds ominous. [He smiles faintly.] Never really took that kind of thing seriously but I sort of wish I had a temple to visit.
[He still has memories of going with his mother, clapping and listening to the bell ring at midnight. Morioh is an old fashioned sort of place and it just sort of stuck.]
no subject
That it something he's asked to do before but then Josuke made a lewd comment about him flirting with him and it soured the whole moment. Do they feel like paper or plastic? They look incredibly thin so maybe they feel like wax paper. And do the thin veins running through them in such intricate patterns feel like anything at all?
So many questions... He actually does make to touch one but Josuke's wings flutter a bit and that puts a silent end to it. He doesn't want to accidentally poke a hole through one with his claws.
Instead he clears his throat, continuing the conversation] I haven't gone to the temple in many years but I remember doing so when I was younger. Prayers for a new year. Getting your fortune... That makes me wish I had designed my café to be a bit more traditional looking. I didn't think business would be good if I didn't go for modern. There are still things I could do though. You've never been but I have a tree like structure in the center. There are branch like structures. Maybe next year I can have some sort of O-mikuji and we can attach the fortunes to the tree in some way. That might be nice. Something to consider...
[Making plans for another year in Ryslig doesn't feel incredibly great but he really has no choice. The least he can do is try and be a little positive about it all even if it's scraping together old memories from home and making them something tangible.
He simply misses Morioh so very much.]
no subject
[Still, there's no missing that Kira sounds a little distracted, like a cat watching a bird through a window, and Josuke finds himself following his eyes- is he looking at the crack in the wall, or...?]
Ah...
[His wings. Right. Didn't he say before that he liked them or something? He'd responded with a slightly poorly judged joke at the time but he doesn't feel like it right now, not when they're actually being civil. So, he decides to throw him a bone. Uncertainly, he glances away.]
You're staring again. Look, if my wings are that fascinating, just- just touch them or poke 'em or whatever. Get it out of your system.
[And he promptly turns around before he has a chance to change his mind about the offer. Should he accept, Kira will find that his wings feel almost like a bee or a butterfly's; the sheer, pink membrane is at once worryingly delicate and sturdy, yielding but strong between the curves of their settings and, up close, have an ever so slightly iridescent quality. Maybe it's just the awkwardness of the situation making him so wary but it takes a lot of effort to stay still; turning his back on Kira Yoshikage will never sound like a good idea.]
Thank you for letting him touch the wings
Him actually going out of his way to create something or be a part of it is a daunting task though. He's apprehensive about doing something so large and on that kind of scale. Just too much focus and attention on him. Though he's gotten better at dealing with that kind of thing, he runs a café where people want to talk to him all the time. He's managing that fairly well. That kind of thing is just a lot.
He'll consider it, if nothing else. After all... there's no need to hide the way he used to. So...
Planning a whole year from now has to wait as Josuke has decided to call him right out for his staring. How rude. He doesn't have an excuse. He could blame the Goblin but that's simply a bad excuse and he was staring before he ever transformed.
His wings snap back behind him and he's not quite sure what to say other than he definitely wasn't staring, even though he quite obviously was. There's no need for an excuse though as Josuke is just going to let him touch them.
Really?
Seems so...
This has been a very strange Christmas.
Feeling just a tad bit of apprehension he does hesitantly step just a bit closer and gently he places a hand on one of Josuke's wings. It doesn't feel like how he expected it to but more so how they probably should feel. It only makes sense that they'd feel exactly like an insect's wings. Thousands of tiny scales make up what he sees here with very slight pigments that give them their current color. He traces one of the hearts, being mindful of his claws as continues to give another few moments of inspection. Hopefully, this satisfies this bizarre desire forever.]
Thank you... [What a strange thing to thank someone for.] They really are that fascinating though. I'd offer to the same courtesy but I think you've done more than enough with my wings to last a lifetime and then some. [Surgically removing them and all.] Do your wings come with any downsides other than being presumably incredibly fragile? For example... mine apparently molt. But I can't imagine yours shedding or flaking, things of that nature.
no subject
... quit it. [Fuck. His face is hot.] That tickles.
[Any further attempts at that kind of thing are met with a beat of his wings, knocking his hand back but Kira seems to have finished anyway and, at last, Josuke breathes out. That was both a lot less painless and a lot more awkward than he had expected. No wonder he doesn't seem to know what to do with himself when he turns around.]
They're not too bad but I can't get them too wet; they take like a day to dry out and don't work properly for a while. [He shrugs.] And they're not strong enough to lift me even a little.
[Kira's probably could with the right conditions and a little magical encouragement but his own are just too light.]
no subject
Whatever. It's not like he ever intends to touch them again. He did it once. It's out of his system. Forever.]
I was under the impression that we couldn't possibly fly with these wings. [Josuke's certainly not. But he can't see him being all that successful with his own wings either. There's no possible way...] I also still don't have a lot of control over them. They kind of just... respond to things. Emotions and all that. Attempting any sort of flight seems not only impossible but very unwise.
[Would he want to fly even if he could? He's... not sure.]
But since we're talking about how we're Goblins and all. I have another question to ask. If you don't mind. [Josuke might not like the nature of this question but it's something he's been struggling with since the beginning. He just can't seem to make this ability work the way it should.]

I knew a couple of goblins who could fly by controlling the wind- sort of like how I did with the snowballs but using it for lift instead.
[Though sturdier than they appear, he's fairly confident that his wings are too small and delicate to withstand the amount of force he'd have to use. But that's fine; he's come to terms with their existence being form over function, all style over substance.]
But yeah, they have a mind of their own sometimes... it's kind of a pain in the ass. [like right now they're giving away how flustered he still feels by flaring out] Alright. I mean, I'm not an expert or anything but...
[He shouldn't really help him but Josuke rationalises it pretty easily as informing him of something that might stop him from going on a murderous hunger rampage later. Assuming that his question is related to the admittedly difficult task of feeding, that is.]

I think I prefer to stay on the ground. I've never even gone on an airplane... trusting some fickle magic and wings I can't even completely control to see if I can maybe fly is not a high priority.
[Surprisingly Josuke agrees. Which is good. Because he does need advice. Although... it's an incredibly difficult thing to talk about. It's best to start from the beginning.] I'll try and explain quickly... The magic or spells, or whatever it is that's needed to do what we need to do wasn't really clicking with me. And so, I had a man named Marco show me how it all works since whatever monster he is... a squid of some kind and Goblins feed off the same thing. He did show me... But... [Kira clicks his claws together feeling a tad bit at a loss. It's difficult to say just what he saw exactly. It wasn't good and he wishes more than anything that he never ever saw it and just swallowed his pride and asked Lucius or... or Josuke.]
Marco... Marco sucks the energy or whatever it is out of them with his mouth using their mouth. [Nailed it.] And I wanted to make sure that's not the case with us. Surely we have a much better way to get what we need out of people.
